Cascata Borca di Cadore is a nice waterfall in Borca di Cadore, 18 kilometers south of Cortina d’Ampezzo in the region Veneto in the northeast of Italy.
When driving from Cortina d’Ampezzo to Borca di Cadore (road ss51) take the exit to the right, a few hundred meters after the gasstation in Borca, towards the church (via San Rocco). Take the small road behind the church that leads to a bridge over the river. Park your car somewhere after the bridge (gps 46.431588, 12.220622). The trailhead lies here, follow the signs for Malga Ciauta. After 10 minutes you reach a picnic with a view on the waterfall.
If you start from Borca di Cadore centre the waterfall, which is also named Cascata di Ru de Assola, can be reached in 15-20 minutes. There is also a trail that makes a roundtrip from Borca di Cadore, which takes 50 minutes.
Cascata Borca di Cadore can be very impressive when there is enough water in the river. The water plunges down over 50-70 meters and end in Torrente Bòite.
The walk to Cascata di Ru de Assol is popular by tourists in the summer.
