Cascata de Fisgas do Ermelo

Cascata de Fisgas do Ermelo is a very nice waterfall in Parque Natural do Alvão, near Fojo (Ermelo), east of Guimarães in the region Braga, Portugal.

From Guimarães  it is a 80 minute drive. Take the A7 to the east and at the exit to road N210 to Vila Nune and Mondin de Baste (road N304). There drive to Fojo, a small hamlet north of Ermelo. There is a viewpoint (Miradoura) on Cascata de Fisgas do Ermelo and a parking (gps 41.376554, -7.870284). In summertime there are a lot of tourists.

From Miradoura Cascata de Fisgas do Ermelo you have a nice view from a above but you can walk towards the waterfall. From the parking there is a trail going up, away from the waterfall but keep right. It will go back to the river with some nice views. Further you will be standing on the top of the waterfall.

Cascata de Fisgas do Ermelo can be very impressive in wintertime or after a rainy period. The waterfall has several stages with a total drop of approximately 170 meter.
