Cascatas de Fecha de Barjas
(Cascatas do Tahiti)
Cascatas de Fecha de Barjas (or Cascatas do Tahiti) is a photogenic waterfall (especially when there is enough water in it) and is located near Ermida (Vilar da Veiga) in the region Bragas, Portugal. The waterfall is part of Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês.
From Braga it is a 70 minute drive to Ermida following Rio Cavado over road N103. After Sudro turn left to Ermida. After 9 kilometer you cross a small river where Cascatas de Fecha de Barjas is located. Probably there are a lot of cars parked along the road because it is quite a popular destination for bathing.
You can park your car along the road near the bridge (gps 41.704197, -8.110091). From here descent to the lower part of the river. There is a path at the west side of the river Arado.
Cascatas de Fecha de Barjas is the perfect place for a nice and refreshing swim. It is also nice to explore the river from the top of the waterfall. I especially like the views when there is enough water is in the Arado.
