Cascata di Ballino
(Cascata Sajant)
Cascata di Ballino (also named cascata Sajant) is a low volume waterfall near the village of Ballino, just north of Riva di Garda, in the region Trentino – Alto Adige (Südtirol), Italy.
From Lago di Garda/Riva di Garda it is a short drive to Ballino, 20 minutes (14 kilometer). The route takes you also along the most famous (and beautiful) waterfall in the region, Cascata del Varone. Arriving in Ballino park the car somewhere in the center. There are some parking spots (gps 45.965375, 10.811437). At the small church walk west towards the mountains and keep on following the trail to Sajand. There are signs. After 15-20 minutes (1,6 km) you reach a small gorge with Cascata di Ballino.
Cascata di Ballino plunges down over appr 90 meter, in the river Rio Ruza, and is located at an altitude of 1.000 meter. Best time to visit Cascata di Ballino is early summer in the morning/midday.
It is also possible to climb up at the waterfall (Via Ferrata). I don’t know if there are guided tours?
