Cascata di Cusano

(Cascate di Lejo)

Cascata di Cusano or Cascate de Lejo is one of the finest waterfalls I have ever seen. There aren’t that many tropical like waterfalls in Europe but this waterfall, in the center of Italy, is the perfect spot for a day relaxing and swimming, although the water is probably quite cold.

Cascata di Cusano/Cascate de Lejo is located east of Abbateggio in the region Abruzzo, Italy.

From Pescara drive to Scafa (road s5) and there take the exit to San Valentino (sr487). Drive on until you see the exit to Abbateggio (sp30). Just before entering Abbateggio go right and keep following the signs “Cusano”. Drive on to gps coordinate 42.229767, 14.022844 and park the care here along the road.

From here walk east into the field wit Olive trees until you see a path descending to the river. A detailed description can be found here.
