When on a holiday in Italy, summer 2014, I did not know what to expect of Italian waterfalls. Cascata di Lenteney was our first encounter with a waterfall in Italy. Wonderful to see in a picturesque area. Later on I discovered that the waterfalls in Valle d’Aosta where almost all very powerful and gorgeous.
Cascata di Lenteney is located just outside La Salle, visible from the road SS26 when you drive in a northwesterly direction. Otherwise you have to look over your shoulder.
There is a small parking lot in front of the waterfall when crossing the bridge (gps 45.730994, 7.076774). From the roadside you already can admire the beauty of Cascata di Lenteney ,but at the left of the parking you can walk up (in a few minutes ) to a bridge with a beautiful view on the waterfall. Along the way there are lots of flowers and butterflies flying around. From the middle part you it is possible to climb to the top of the waterfall for a beautiful view on the valley.
The source of Cascata di Lenteney lies at one of the largest glaciers in Italy, Ghiaccialo del Rutor. This is also the source of one of the most beautiful waterfall is Italy cascate del Rutor.
Note: I was in Italy July/August 2014 in an extremely wet summer. The volume of waterfalls can be different from on the photo’s I took.
