Tallisker bay waterfall is one of the highest single drop waterfalls in the United Kingdom. Although it is an unofficial named waterfall, it can be found on the map (without a name).
Taslisker Bay waterfall is located on the West Coast of Skye near the village of Carbost where the famous ‘Taslisker’ whisky is distilled. When driving on the A87 at Sligachan take the turn towards Drynoch (A863) and drive on to Carbost. In Carbost drive to beach at Talisker.
From a small lake Loch an Sguirr Mhoir in the hills above Tallisker, the river Allt Mheididh finds it way to the Atlantic Ocean. At the end there is a 130 meter high cliff, creating an amazing waterfall.
Best time to visit the Talisker bay waterfall is after heavy rainfall when there is an overflow of Loch an Sguirr Mhoir that feeds the waterfall. In a dry period there is probably no waterfall.
