Frecha da Mizarela

Frecha da Mizarela is one of the higher waterfalls on the mainland of Portugal and is located near Mizarela (Rossas) in the region Aveiro.

From road N224 (south west from Rossas) take the exit to Saril and follow the road to Mizarela. Just for Mizarela there is a sign “Frecha da Mizarela” (gps 40.863919, -8.285915). You can park your car a little further down the road.

The view is already amazing from the viewpoint (Miradoura) but you also can walk (or drive) down the dead end road that leads to several other nice viewpoint on the waterfall. There is a trail running paralel the dead end road with better views.

In summertime, in dry periods, the waterfall probably runs dry. In rainy periods Frecha da Mizarela can turn into a medium powerful waterfall, very beautiful to see.
