Talisker bay waterfall is waterfall on the Isle of Sky near Talisker (Carbost) in Scotland (United Kingdom).
The Talisker Bay waterfall is located on the West Coast of Skye near the village of Carbost where the famous ‘Taslisker’ whisky is distilled. When driving on the A87 at Sligachan take the turn towards Drynoch (A863) and drive on to Carbost.
In Carbost take the road to Talisker and drive to the parking, 1.5 kilometer from the beach at Talisker (gps 57.287346, -6.438921). From here it is an easy walk to the beach (15-20 minutes). At teh beach you already can see the waterfall at the right in the distance.
From a small lake Loch an Sguirr Mhoir in the hills above Talisker, the river Allt Mheididh finds it way to the Atlantic Ocean. At the end there is a 130 meter high cliff, creating an amazing waterfall.
The Talisker bay waterfall is one of the highest single drop waterfalls in the United Kingdom with a single drop of 130 meter.
Best time to visit the Talisker bay waterfall is after heavy rainfall when there is an overflow of Loch an Sguirr Mhoir that feeds the waterfall. In a dry period there is probably no water in the waterfall.
