Cascade de Bout du Monde

Cascade de Bout du Monde is a hidden gem located in the village of Maillot/Beure, south of Besançon, in the region Doubs, France. From Besançon it is a short drive to Beure. In Beure you have to take a small road ‘chemin de Maillot’. It is hard to find, you better can navigate to 1.) gps 47.205792, 6.010414 or 2.) gps 47.205220, 6.009516.

In Maillot you have to find a parking somewhere near the gps coordinate.
Option 1: I think you can park your car a hundred meter for the gps coordinate, which is also the trailhead of a path that leads to a viewpoint on Cascade de Bout du Monde.
Option 2: there is no official parking but there is enough possibilities to park. The approach from here is easier.

From both parking spots it is an easy and short walk to Cascade de Bout du Monde. The water of the river Mercureaux cascades down over 50 meter and can be very beautiful after rainfall. This unknown waterfall is one of the higher waterfalls in the region.

After visiting cascade de Bout du Monde you can go to another waterfall called cascade de la Pisseure. This waterfall is located at the parking of option 2. If you walk back over rue de la cascade, go left at the end. After 5 minutes you reach a 6-7meter high waterfall, cascade de la Pisseure.
