The Kjerrskredsfossen is the little brother of the more famous Kjelfossen that is located 1,5 kilometer north of the Kjerrskredsfossen, at the same side of the valley (east) Nærøydalen, near Gudvangen in the region Sogn og Fjordane.

Ar first you won’t notice the Kjerrskredsfossen, because you just visited the gigantic and powerful Stalheimsfossen and Sivlefossen. Or you are on your way to Flåm. But if you look closer you will see that the Kjerrskredsfossen is one of the tallest waterfalls in Norway.

With a total height over 675 meter (probably more then 900 meter), the Kjerrskredkveleven falls down from a mountain plateau with several small lakes at an altitude of 1.400-1.500 meter.

In wintertime the Kjerrskredsfossen is popular for ice climbing, with one of the biggest descents in the world (900-1.000 meter).

The volume of the Kjerrskredsfossen isn’t very big but early summer there is enough water in the waterfall to see its potential.
